Project Details:

In this project our clients wanted us to create an exceptional legal suite space for the parents of the young family living in the main portion of the house and to update the exterior of the existing home to tie in the addition, modernize the curb appeal, and increase efficiency.

Challenges included only having approximately 17′ of side yard to work with and clients that wanted to maximize their allowable square footage and have a spacious/roomy feeling to their space. We decided this meant adding height to create the spacious and open feel in the living area allowing us to also achieve a loft in the back while still having the front elevation tie in well with the existing portion of the house ensuring the addition blends well with the existing elevation.

We used a portion of the existing mud-room to allow for a spacious 5pcs master en-suite. We chose low maintenance & durable materials to allow our clients to travel often and to keep up-keep chores to a minimum. We used bright and minimalistic materials supporting the open and spacious feel that was important to our clients. This certainly isn’t your typical suite! In fact, this project is a finalist for the 2024 Georgie Awards – Best Renovation between $450,000-$750,000!
